ASSETS Living Lab Featured at HS4IL Living Lab Workshop in Bologna

On 26 May 2026, the ASSETS Project participated in the Living Lab Workshop held in Bologna as part of the European HS4IL initiative. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, social economy organisations and technology providers, the workshop focused on social innovation, independent living and inclusive housing solutions.

The event aimed to foster collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange and promote inclusive solutions through a participatory and impact-oriented approach.

Showcasing Collaborative Housing in Action

During the workshop, Cooperativa Sole and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano presented the Bolzano Living Lab developed under the ASSETS project. The presentation showcased the Living Lab as a model connecting collaborative housing, community empowerment, solidarity actions and social impact assessment.

The discussion highlighted how Living Labs can bridge neighbourhood-level experimentation and policy development while fostering inclusion, wellbeing and active citizenship.

Fostering Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange

The workshop programme featured a range of sessions exploring practical approaches to inclusive housing and independent living, including:

  • Independent Living and Digital Technologies – examining how digital rights and technologies can support autonomy and inclusion.
  • Living Labs for Inclusive Housing – focusing on co-creation methodologies involving people with disabilities.
  • Digital Tools for Independent Housing – presenting practical technological solutions that support independent living.
  • The Bolzano Living Lab – showcasing collaborative housing as a real-world practice of social innovation.
